Valentine’s Day – love or hate?
It’s that time of year. Heart-shaped chocolates, dozens of roses and cute teddy bears. Love is clearly in the air once February comes. A special occasion for many as they’ll be spending it with their significant other in a candle-lit dinner or some other romantic event. Not so great for others who don’t have a partner as this day may sound dreadful or just pointless. What’s your take on Valentine’s Day? Do you love it or hate it?
For many MySurvey members, it seems as this romantic holiday plays in their favor. Out of 8,000 who were polled, only 24.3% have indicated not having a partner. This means that more than half will definitely have a reason to celebrate! However, this doesn’t mean single individuals can’t celebrate either. What’s better than enjoying yourself with a few other friends over dinner and drinks? =)
However, of those who have partners, 21.2% said they already bought a gift or have an idea of what to buy, while 37.3% are unsure of a gift and are still thinking about it. Surprisingly, more men than women indicated the first, while the complete opposite was true for those still iffy. Guess men aren’t much of the slackers we thought they were, huh?
Luckily, only a low 17.2% said they won’t be getting a gift this year. Not too bad when you take into consideration the definites and maybes of who’ll be getting one. Now how much will you all be spending on that gift this year? More or less than last year? Majority indicated anywhere between $11 and $30, followed by the $31 to $60 range. Ideally, the best gift is always the gift that hits the heart, not necessarily the most expensive and extravagant one. Keep that in mind when shopping around!
Think it’s over? Well after deciding to buy a gift and then actually getting it, how do you give it to your other half? Do you do it in person, send it to his/her home or send it to his/her office? Obviously, everyone loves surprises, but many MySurvey members seem to prefer in person. This can provide a deeper, more intimate interaction given that you both are face to face. More than half opted in for this choice, while 3.1% preferred sending it to his/her home. There still is hope for the digital world after all!
We wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day!
